No, sorry, for a FPS, HL2 is in my opinion the best ever. I mostly play FPS. I like RPGs but don't finish them. HL2 is the most fun/enjoying game I've played in my 22 years of gaming.

I love HL2 as much as the next guy, and the time I have played HL2 is some of, if not the BEST time I have ever had playing SP.

But, a big but here, there have been some other revolutionary games in the past. I remember staying up all night and getting Zelda the second Target opened on the release date (Target was the earliest opening store in my area hehe). Zelda: Orcana of Time is a masterpiece of gaming.

To think they made that game on the N64 is just amazing. The polish and story and the game concept (3D Action RPG) was, well, revolutionary AND fun. Rarely are revolutionary games fun... more gimmiky. ZOoT just flat out rocked.

Not taking ANYTHING from HL2, but I wont diss ZOoT just because it was a console game. HL2 is great, and maybe the best ever--I wont argue against that. I want to play hard first. And if hard is not hard enough I want to mod the damage/accuracy of the Combine to make it harder.

Modding and Mods will be, in the long run, what separate HL2 from every other game IMO. Source sets the groundwork for so many things. In some ways HL2 is a tech demo--with a very nice story and acting--of what Source can do. e.g. *SPOILER*

I was having so much fun squishing combine with the crane by picking up the cargo containers and DROPPING them on the Combine soilders!!!!!!! The crane physics are OUTSTANDING!! I was SAD to have no more Combine to SQUISH!

I just thought of a kewl mod: A HL2 Party game! Take things like the above spoiler or like the buggy and make races... just like Mario Party!

And that, my friends, is why HL2 will be remembered 5 years from now

It was a very fun game. The very best I have ever played from all genres. I just beat it about 5 mins ago and man oh man is it exciting. It took me about 14 hours or so to beat, but I am very good at FPS's. I could see this taking average joe about 20 hours to beat.

I dont like saying a game is the "best game of all time" because you cant compare games like Zelda to Halo, you just cant, they are way different. I think that HL2 is probably the best FPS of all time, but not the Best game of all time, i dont have any game in that slot

Why not? The best game of all time, in my estimation, is defined as: the game I have the most FUN playing.

So in that respect, All games spanning all differnt genres can be included. And OOT is easily the best game of all time.

I believe I was about 12 or 13 when I first played OOT. I used to have dreams about it. I wanted Princess Zelda to be my girlfriend (not that I don't think Alyx is Hot!). I Dreamt about living in that fairytale world. About wielding a huge shield and brandishing my Razor sharp Sword. No game will ever mystify me like that game did.
