HL2 lost Coast

Hi all !

I have a question.
I just installed Lost Coast and turned the commentary mode on.
Now i want to play normally and i just cant find the option where i can disable the commentaries mode and become mortal again

Any help?

playing through that with commentary is pretty much the max fun you'll get outta that.. it was just a demo for their HDR lighting in source... u want the real deal play half life 2.

I finished both HL and HL2 with all expansions

But somehow I missed this "Lost Coast" thing...

And I finally found the option where to disable the commentary( i must have been blind for the first time i was searching for it

well, your not really missing out on much, it has nothing to do with story line.. like i said, its just a lighting demo they made to show off HDR in the source engine.

I think you can click Start New Game, then untick the Commentary Mode box. Or it should be somewhere on the option. It can be shut down in console(~) as well by typing commentary 0.

I don't really understand. He just asked a simple question how to turn the commentary mode off. Why you didn't tell him, instead of talk a bunch of bullshit? Everyone knows Lost Coast is a tech demo, but it is not like we should avoid the normal gameplay as hell. What are you thinking?

It's in the "options" menu, you can turn it on or off. Somehow I missed that first time I was looking for it.

Oh and starting new game wont help because I believe the "commentary menu" spawns itself only for the first time you launch the game. I tried like 4-5 times after that and it never appeared again.

Actually it does have something to do with the storyline.

It was in the Alpha (Maybe Beta I'm not fully sure) version of HL2 as the chapter between Highway 17 & Sandtraps.

lol, they should have kept that level in HL2 instead of taking it out, would have been a good add-on for the orange box.
