HL2 pre-load tonight, 1 question

When I go to preload do I do the same thing I did to get CS:S. Enter HL2 voucher key? or will it show up in coming soon part of steam.

One of two things will happen.

1) You will get a pop up (if you've opted to receive them in your settings) asking you if you want to preload and it will give you the option to do so (see our most recent news post for the actual picture you'll see.

2) It will show up in the "coming soon" part of Steam.

I was reading saying you have to pay to active it, but I hope they do not go ahead and tell you to pay for the pre-load.

Or it be a waste of my time downloading pre-load.
