HL2 Preload question...

ok, I read everywhere that HL2 will start preload later this month and I know it will preload some files that won't change, my question is, this preload is only for ppl who are buying the game through steam? cuz eventually, who buys it at a store, will have the cd and such, with all the content right? I'm buying it at the store, will I have to make the preload?

It's like with Condition Zero.

You'll be able to preload the game but It won't be unlocked until It's out and you have payed for it.
