hl2 question

i cant afford to buy a 360 so in a couple days when i get some money im going to buy hl2 all episodes for my pc. Im running a high quality intel and 2 monitors, and 18 inch and a 22 inch widescreen. Would the game look better than it would if it was on 360 or PS3? Do you have any tips for me on good gameplay or strategy?

Well that guess is all speculation then. It wont just look better on a PC, it's highly possible it'll look like trash if specs don't match up.

What graphics card do you have, and how high is the CPU clock? Also, a bit irrelevant to visuals, but how much RAM and what is the RPM of your HD?

And you do not nee`d any tips on gameplay or strategy as the game is very linear and you pretty much figure out how to kick-a** yourself. One thing you should know about the guns is that the 357 magnum is a one-hitter quitter and the Combine Assault Rifle has a secondary shot that shoots a ball to vaporize enemies and when the ball explodes, the shockwave affects enemies in the wave as well.

apparantly hl2 and ep1 looks better on xbox360 then pc but ep2 looks best on pc.

The 360 has the updated source engine for those two, that's why.

Half life 2 and Half life 2: Episode one on the Xbox 360 and PS3 are running the updated Orange box version of the Source Engine. If you are running a TV with HDMI the console copies of the Orange box will probably look nicer.

However.. there are far more incentives to buying the Orange box for PC that the console copies just cant compete with.. I shall list a few of them.

1: Mouse a Keyboard.. they dominate any controller.

2: Immersion.. I played Half life 2 on the original Xbox ( long after playing through it on PC ).. and it just wasnt there.. on pc you'll find your self exploring more, playing with physics objects ect...

3: Free mods... Half life 2 has so many great free mods both single and muliplayer..

4: Free content.. skins, addons.. map packs.. updates.. whatever it is.. you wont pay for it..

5: Free online play... If your into the whole multiplayer thing, other then your monthly internet service, you wont pay an extra dime.

edit* 6: access to the console.. how i missed that tid-bit i dont know becuase its going to be used a lot after you've played though the game at least once.

7: Garrys mod. yes i know that should be noted under Free mods.. but the latest one is not quite free.. but does require that you have at least half life 2 ( or any other source game ).. and it is amazing. best ( if not only ) sand box mod you'll ever find

These are just a few of the reasons.. im about 87.3% there are tons more. ( yes i pulled that number outta my ass )
