HL2 super hard mode?

ok so I love HL2 and I often go back to it after a long night on WOW, but after beating it at least 4 times on the hardest setting I gotta ask has anyone made a mod that makes HL2 even harder? not looking for any special modification other then to make it more challenging, as good as HL2 is I never found it to be that hard, but I'd like to try it on a more difficult setting, if anyone has modded it in that way

On a related note, apparently there will be a 'superhard' mode for Episode 2.

Supposedly EP2 will come with an extra-hard mode that will be backwards compatable with HL2. Until then you can edit the files in notepad. There's one, I can't remember the name of it though, that controls all enemy health and weapon damage.

I found Substance to be harder, because, if you get shot, you slowly bleed to death unless you can get health...

Substance and SMod. I found them crap, but a lot of people enjoy them.

Yeah, I didnt enjoy Substance....found it pieced together pretty randomly...Striders and soldiers and scanners everywhere...

He should play Substance just to see how it feels for him. It's harder, but with some HL2 removed with the general chaos it brings to the game.
