Is it though when the zombies in HL2 can detect nearby props and throw them at the enemy accurately or when dog can use it? It's more that the less talented claimed they would do it and the more talented took up other projects

Yeah, some basic GravGun using bots is feasable with some coding here and there. But I wouldn't mind bots that just ran around with the regular weapons! It can't be that hard.

Yes thats true BUT that happens when a prop is in betwen you and the zombie, having a combine swap weapons and using the grav gun is not easy to do, you can have them using just a grav gun but with guns aswell is not posable, beleave me i tried.

I downloaded HPBot2 ... they're not wery smart but they follow waypoints and shoot at people... can i turn off gravity gun somehow?? Because when bot dies he spawns with ggun and tries to shoot me with it ... he isn't using other weapons ... only first time till he dies, he uses other weapons ... it's not interesting ...

Yeh i do agree, play for fun, i hate people bitching at me for owening them with grav gun or magnum or crossbow you name it they with bitch, thats why i don't read there text but that was back in Jap land. and if i do play with people that suck (there most likely newbies) i limit my self to other weapons not tell them how shit they are, that pisses me off.

I turned cl_defaultweapon "weapon_pistol" ( was cl_defaultweapon weapon_physgun <- something like that ) but bots still turn ggun on and they're running around with it trying to kill someone ... not picking up things but tries to shoot with attack1 ...

Do you have any inkling of what you are talking about? I would appreciate it if you stopped spewing nonsense. Who says bots can't have gravity guns? That's the whole point of the thread, we are looking for a modification or bot script that someone made that DOES let them use it. Or atleast, any other weapon.

But it's the problem ... i have hpb_bot2 ... 1st time when i add them, they are playing with pistol or smg, or other weapons, whitch they pick up , but when they die, they spawn with grav gun and try to shoot me with attack1 ... i dont know how to fix it ... anyone know how? please help

There is no sush A.I. in any game that can use a grav gun and do other stuff (No dog dose not work the same) for A.I. to move and use a grav gun is to hard to code, for them to know when to pick up something, for them to know how faraway you are and not kill themselves with a drum...and so on and so forth, there is to much ****ing about, and even if someone did get it to work the code would crash in to one an other or net play would be very laggy or the game or cpu or whatever would be doing to much work to even think about playing over the internet.

Give them plane guns and yes easy as but grav guns NO.

There you go again, spewing the same nonsense again. (And flaming, too) Listen to Riomhaire. You are saying that it's "impossible" to make a bot use the gravity gun just because you THINK it's too hard. I'm willing to bet you don't even have a clue as to how hard it is. And what is all this talk about laggy gameplay and CPUs? And why would you play over the internet with bots 0_0. First of all, I don't see what an AI has to do with the internet, all data of the bot's actions are sent to clients the EXACT SAME WAY player data is sent, probably even simpler. The server does all the work. And what about CS bots? You can have a ton of those with a mediocre CPU. Getting a bot to do some basic G-gun behaviors is nowhere near as complicated as you think.
