HL2DM wont START UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I still have the problem, my CSS, HL2DM DONT WORK!

There dont startup, ever since I got HL2DM, The dialog box just comes and says starting game and then dissapears yet does not boot the game, In other forums I heard that there is an update that fixed it but My steam is up to date and still it seems to have this problem.

Maybe validating all your files will help.

Ok into steam go to play games. Right click on HL2DM. Then click proporities.
Tell me the Amount Acquired.

Also make under automatic updates it says:
Automatically update this game.

although i did completely install it, it says 37% amount aquired...
and it says requires update ( its on automatic updates )
I clicked play game yet the dialog box just dissapears, it doesnt try to update.

How about uninstall and reinstall?

Maybe adding some !!11oneone to the topicheader can do it

ok, i have tried, I deleted local game content and reinstalled it (didnt work), I tried deleted the .gcf file and waited 1-1/2 hours for it to download and still DIDNT WORK!!!!! I THINK IM GONNA EXPLODE!!! ERR!!!! and Its amount aquired is 100% and its done updating and automatic updates are switched to ON.!!!!

Well thats your probelm with Garrys Mod. If automatic updates are on and it dosn't go(I suggest leaving steam and coming back in) then that means all of steams servers are being used for updating & things..

For HL2 and HL2DM?
Hmm..dun know then.

Try verifying your game files.... goto the XP run dialogue and type in

steam://validate/220 - HL² SP
steam://validate/320 - CS:S

If that doesnt work check your hard drive for corruption using CHKDSK /F

If that don't work not sure what to do???

I deleted HL2M local content and double-clicked on its Steam icon. It says 94% ready. How to get that missing 6%?

EDIT: No prob anymore, Steam seems to update it by itself

ok, HL2DM is completely updated, amount aquired is 100%, i left my steam on, and it finished updating automatically, however this did not fix my problem, everything is up to date, automatic updates are on, yet it still does not work.

I am going to delete steam and all its games and reinstall them all.
