I was wondering.. Will hl2 incorporate these... so far I see no signs of it in videos and the new vampire game seems to have added there own \= this (kind of) scares me because even the karma phisics used in unreal tech enable you to use cloth physics (see rainbow six 3 ect.)

well did valve simply overlook this???

lighting is also an issue vapire had to redo that as well.... I heard hl2 had great lighting but "wasent up to the merky diversity" or whatever so heh that kind of threw me off considering unreal warfare pulls that off flawlessly in deus ex 2 IW........ hl2's particle system was redone for vamp as well... shouldent the sdk be powerfull enough for people to create some flashy fx?? or would they have to do what vapire did and write theyre own like mods such as the battlegrounds/dod have done for hl. (which would probably take a long long time for independent mod dev's)

is hl2's feature set being outdated before its even released??? heh kind of worrysome especially if we see games like farcry/stalker/doomIII first especially if they have strong editing/sdk abilities.......

Im not saying hl2 will be outdated im sure it will be the masterpiece it was intended to be, but to the casual gamer would hl2 seem kind of oudated?? who knows

but hey its got a fanbase to die for and some pretty amazeing things to come so... :naughty:

anyways just something to discuss before our precious comes around... :afro:

I think i heard someone saying they were looking at updating some features of the graphics such as shadows and lights during the delay

The interview says that Troika bought the engine before they knew what game they would make with it. They didn't know how much they had to customize it for their next game, maybe the engine wasn't quite fitting with Vampire game style and they had to change a lot of things.
They didn't say they improved lighting, they said they modified it so if fitted in with the darker but neon lit world the game plays in, a totally different world from HL2's.
They gave themselves more control of the particle system, and what makes you think modders won't be able to do so too?
And they say it's an amazing engine like 20 times in the article, so why are you worried?
