Holy crap. Godfather game...Good?

Good lord, a video game based on a movie that's a success? Stop the presses!
 
I dunno.... this game looks to be "From Russia With Love" with a different license and no gadgets.
 
whoah didnt expect that, the vids and screens i saw looked awful, no shadows on characters or vehicles, wtf was that about but 8.1, interesting, demo FTW!
 
It was such a good movie the rank 8.1 means it failed to not shit on it.
 
I have the game, its good. Better than Mafia. I really enjoy it so far.

I don't know if I should rent or buy this. GameSpot and IGN said it could take you a good 40-50 hours. That's a damn good amount of gameplay o__o.
 
Eh, I'll wait for a demo... hopefully they release one.

I started playing this today(European version) and it's f***ing owns! It's not GTA, but hell yeah. Its not perfect, but if you like the Godfather movies, then this is the game you shoud buy. :)

But hey, if you're a graphics whore, then this is NOT what you shoud buy.

Yes, Mafia is the only game where I actually felt sad at the end, it's the first ever emotionally powerful game ever made (at the standard of a good movie) and currently the only one... I think.

Man I wish my Mafia CD's wern't scratched *buys new $10 copy tommorow*
It's $10 that's how much a game should cost.
 
It's a decent enough GTA clone, but it's a disgrace to the license. Seriously, it's pretty ridiculous, in the opening portions of the game you blow more shit up and beat/kill more people than you do in a GTA game.

Actually, I'd say it's one of the worst GTA clones. The original Getaway, Mafia, GTA, and the new Driver game are all better than this. The only thing it bests is True Crime. But still, it's an above average game.
 
The storyline looks decent. Of course, they're gonna have to take a few liberties with violence, its a third person shooter.
 
On Godfather the Game if you do the standard missions then expect 10-20 hours of gameplay out of it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, however it will start to get repetitive and whether you'll be able to get 100% completion or not without getting insanely bored remains to be seen. I'm certainly not gonna attempt it.
 
Got it today, pretty sick.

Its like GTA with an italian mafia storyline. Also has a lot of nice gore, with awsome execution moves.

Driving is pretty standard, nothing fancy.

But like CHris D said, its gunna get really repetitive if you want the 100% completion. (the storyline missions are pretty varied though.)
