How do you load HL2 maps/ spawn models etc? from the console

I would like to know how to load any map in HL2 to then spawn player models etc.....i don't want to load a part of the SP experience, just the maps....

Also how would you make (for example) the combine want to fight you and not just stand there?

If anyone could help me out, could they do a step-by-step guide, from when HL2 starts up and so forth...
