How does the G-Man preserve Gordon?

Someone told me when he is in statis, it freezes time around him, but that can't be true because G-Man doesn't control time.

If I am not mistaken, Gordon doesn't physically age between the ending of HL 1 and the begining of HL2, right?

Oh, and by the way, on the little manual for HL1, it says Gordon is 28yrs old, right?

He paints a picture of him which Gordon becomes jealous of, so he screams "If it were only the other way! If it were I who was to be always young, and the picture that was to grow old! For that—for that—I would give everything!". As a consequence, Gordon's soul is seemingly stuck within the painting, and it becomes progressively more ugly as he does progressively more despicable things. Eventually, Gordon kills the G-Man and then sticks a knife in the painting, killing himself.

edit: Stasis can be generated by a machine according to all poor science fiction shows. G-Man may not control time, but he may simply have access to a machine that can. The slow teleport may have something to do with it.

edit 2: Note that, aside from Opposing Force and Blue Shift (which are shakey on specifics like this), the main Half-Life games don't actually show how time passes when you are in Xen relative to time on earth (After going into the Lambda Portal, Gordon doesn't reappear for 20 years). The timespans needn't be the same.

Gman exists outside of normal time and space, which is where he stores Gordon. He doesn't control the flow of it by any means.

I thought that was Barney. Explains his handsome face at fifty! :hmph:

I'd say he puts Gordon in a slow teleport but the question is where does he perserve him.
If the G-man is apart of Aperture Science then I can tell where he preserves him and what his purpose was in black Mesa.
