I tried asking this in music section but no one responded. Anyway, I wanted to know how long it would take me to grow my hair (currently just a bit above my shoulders) down to my knees. I would appreciate some input from people with experience growing their hair out.

My friend had hair down to his back for a ages and it just refused to grow anymore. I think there is something in your body to dictate how long your hair does grow.

Approximatly this long [ ]

How the hell should we know?

A few months?

Everybody's hair grows at different speeds.

Damn months? Your hair must grow like crazy. My hair hasn't been growing to fast and that makes me sad. I've never even had it past my shoulders! I'm 16 right now. So if I let it grow until I am like 22 it should be pretty long right?

I grew my hair for about 3 months, It just reached past my eyes, it was at the point where it looked shit though, not long enough, looked like Hugh Grant.

My bangs go about a half inch past my mouth, but I sweep them to the side. I just want the sides to grow faster. The back needs to grow faster too but it is doing better than the sides.

A very long time. Took my about a year to get it half way down my neck (from very short hair). Everybodies bodies ar different, therefore their hair will grow at different speeds.

Young girls spend their entire lives growing their hair to their waists.

I project that by the time you have the hair you want, you won't want it anymore. Alternately, you won't have it anymore. ;)

No I must have it! For metal's sake I must!

Let's see, my hair is a bit below my shoulders. From short hair to long...I think it took about 2-3 years. Been growing it since 8th grade and I'm a sophmore now so...yeah about 2-3 years. Haven't gotten a haircut in about a year.

Well you see my parents have this thing about hair. So I can't start growing it past my shoulders until I'm around 18 (about a year and a quarter). But my hair covers all my neck. So I estimate by the time I am graduating college I will have my uber hair. But if I don't go on as a drummer I will have to get a big job and... *gulp* cut my hair...

I cant stand my hair being even a bit too long. I keep it like only 1 inch long

I'm due for a haircut soon. Not much, just a patch up so it grows out better.

I fear I may have to cut it one day D:

it took me about a year to get my hair all even shoulder length, from like short hair, multply that until you get to your waist !

-EDIT- WTF IS THAT?

My hair is about 4-5 inches long. It was 1 inch long 3 months ago. It grows like kelp :|

I cut my hair really short every couple of weeks. So I couldn't really tell you. Lol.

Too bad she doesn't have uber hair. My hair right now owns hers.

That will look horrible don't do it.

I do not care if it is not attractive to girls. It is to me. I have very fine blonde hair so it is ok growing it out. Come on man, it is for the good of all that is metal. It is my destiny.

My hair touches the tip of my eyebrows, but that's as long as it gets. My school tells me to have it short all the time

It will take years to get it down to your knees. Currently my hair's down to the small of my back, and I've been growing it out for about 2+ years now. It only took a few months to get it down past my shoulders, but after that it slowed. Right now, it's going reaaaaaaaaally slow. And as someone else said, by the time you get down to where you want it, you probably won't want it anymore.

Long hair's awesome, but it's a friggin' hassle too. Maintaining it and keeping it looking nice is only half the problem. When it's as long as mine, your hair tends to get everywhere unless you bind it (and I mean just falling all over the place, not getting everywhere as in shedding--which can also be a problem if you don't groom it enough).

If you start now though, you should have it about where you want by 22. People's hair grows at varying speeds, but six years should suffice. Just convince your parents to let you do it...it's your hair, after all, not theirs. And even if you don't make that drummer job, you can still get a regular job and have long hair...just put it up in a ponytail.

I left a school that told me to have my hair short. I would not put up with it anymore.

And Darkside: Ya I do have to hassle with my hair right now more then I used to and it does shed sometimes but it is well worth it as you put. I just use a lot of conditioner and it doesn't get to messy but I will see when it gets to be your length.

Mine used to be down to mid thigh, then i had to have it cut.......it wont grow again now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss my hair....

No not really... It takes me two years to grow 11 to 12 inches. Then I cut it all off and donate it. And then, I wait two more years.
