Alot of people said they were going to punish Valve, and not buy the game, or buy it from a store. Because of all the bad PR from Valve, and there total lameness over this past year. Buying it from a store gives alot of money to the retailer and Vivendi, and just a tad to Valve, where as steam gives Valve 100%.

Who will buy it from a store, or not buy it at all just to hurt Valve?

this would work better as a poll

plus i m guessing people who say that they will not buy to punish them will only end up trying to pirate a copy off someone.

Whoever does is just stupid. I know valve have given a load of missed dates and lack of information but there will have been reasons behind the scenes that they have had to deal with, most of which would probably justify the delays and most people I bet would make the same decicions.

Its not like a year delay is a big shock (although I was one of the sept 30th 2003 belevers) hl1 was delayed for a year, making it a better game because they had a lot of problems. If anyone wants to know more about this then read this: http://www.gamasutra.com/features/19991210/birdwell_pfv.htm

I for one don't have any sort of grudge against VALVe. I don't see how buying HL2 from the store will be "punishing VALVe". "Go to your room, we bought your game from the store!"?
I'm buying it from the store because I want the CDs, the box, and the manual(s).

well valve does get less money if bought from a store etc.. than from steam. Because vivendi takes some profit through the store.

I'm buying from the stores so the box can be in MY HANDS! :O I buy every game from a store because I like things to be there in my hands. It doesn't seem like you own the game if the box isn't sitting there by you or where ever. Anyone else know what I mean? :cat:

um im pretty sure VU will take profit from steam sales. just depends on their contract.

EDIT: and i want to buy the game to look at the glossy box and the cd's :D

Why the hell would I punish Valve? Because they didn't release the game when I wanted? When they said they would?

It's not like Gabe was out in a trailer with Doug saying "Okay, the release is in four days...LET'S REALLY SCREW 'EM OVER THIS TIME, YAH!"

:/
