How to kill a strider

I tried running to the alley at the other side....but there's no way to out of it...humph...

You need to make it across the train yard and over to the walkway on the other side, there you'll find unlimited rockets - the only weapon you can use against it.

Did you have the RPG?

Did you play Half Life 2? Only a few types of munition available in the game can damage the strider, and in this section of Episode 1, they intend for you to use the above-mentioned RPG. I've read some posts that say that, what, thousands of bullets would take down a strider, but this requires cheats.
