Yesterday I tried running the game, but when I wanted to start a new game, there was an error while loading the first level because apparently because Gman's model is missing or something. I tried starting on other levels and it seems to work well, so I should probably resintall HL2. But how the hell am I supposed to do that if I got it from Steam?

- how to uninstall the game?

- how to resintall the game?

;(

Well if you are missing a model, you can delete just the sourcemodels.gcf, whatever .gcf the file is in you could delete and re-download. Also you could validate your HL2 files, if you look for the command you gotta put into run by searching the forums. Should sort out any corruptions/missing files. (you need steam open to run this process)

You mean this:
steam://validate/220

ok, but where do I put this? Run?

EDIT : alright, it validated everything but it's still not working!

In your internet browser, My computer, Run also works etc.

I had this when my system was unstable due to extreame overclocking :)

I don't understand something ... the other levels work, it's just that ONE file that won't load.

Ok maybe I forgot to mention that I change my mobo and CPU, but it didn't affect anything on my computer except this ONE file

HAHAHA!! what? reinstall? you must be kidding. You have to get Valve to do a very fine surgery on steam in order to do that.

You have to format your computer and then reinstall steam and start all over again.

Same problem

I just finished the game and now I cant load at any of the save points or start a new game. Gives me same response something about memory. I can play Counter Strike Source no problem. I have game on disc (5) from Best Buy. Any ideas?
