Synergy mod for half life 2 has now a huge news update up on our site and tells about alot of features.

I am currently on the team (Also known as "Michael65"), and my job is basicly general development and game analysis. There are some videos up there to view which I had created in the past few days.
I hope everyone enjoys this news update and the mod once its released.
I'd also like to see the mod on more front pages on websites more often EX. Half Life 2.net homepage, or Planet Half-Life or such.

As I have mentioned before in an earlier post, Synergy Beta 2 does now feature other game modes, that are be based on three main game modes: Coop, Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch.
While in Team Deathmatch, NPCs will be assigned to their "default teams", meaning you can create "Assault" style levels with NPCs to fight the enemy. It's quite fun to have a Strider walk with you, slaughtering all the Citizens.
And do not forget our "CSF files"! With these we are able to customize NPCs; their model, sounds they use, their health (and maximum health), their "default team" (for when the map is Team Deathmatch), and so on. It's fun to customize the NPCs, even slightly.
Now, to help support the Coop mode, we have made it so players can carry a limited "size" of weapons. Think of it as a "backpack": you can only fit so much into it. However, you can change the "size" of your "backpack" via the console variable, "synergy_max_weaponsize". We hope this will improve coopertive play by forcing the players to share their weapons, instead of horde them. And on that note, I have finished with the new weapon discarding code. Players can now select "empty" weapons so that they may be dropped for someone that does have ammo or you just want to get rid of it to made room for another weapon. Weapons no longer switch when you run out of ammo.
I have been working with the vehicle code a bit more too. The vehicle view doesn't go "choppy" anymore, therefore players can drive their vehicles alot easier, as I said in one of my earlier posts. We have planned on implementing multi-passenger vehicle code, to also improve co-op and team play.
