i am stuck in route kanal, please help :)

i am new to this board and i just got half life 2. i love it, but i am stuck in route kanal. i am in the part where the train arrives and slows to a stop. i've explored the two ends of the train, jumped on top of the train from the stairs, and then explored those roofless buildings but i cant find anywhere else to go. what am i supposed to do? thanks

If you are talking about the part right after you get a pistol...wait for the train to stop, go back up the stairs from which you came. From here you can jump ON TOP of the train and from there to the ladder, etc

i know about that part. ive already jumped on the train, the ladder, got in more battles, found more ammo and health, but i have no where else to go after that part. just that roofless building and a lot of chain fences.

yes i jumped over that bent over fence. all ive found on the other side of that bent over fence is a skinny hallway with the half life logo and more fence i am unable to break through. ive killed all the enemies on the other side of the train.

I havn't played it for like 12 hours, but i think you have to go into the doorway into the left...up some stairs? Across that long ledge? something like that

Ohh, do you mean that part where there is a pipe? If you are there, you have to walk on the pipe.

hmmm, haven't seen a pipe. at least i dont think i have.

If we are thinking of the same thing.. there should be a vent under the Lambda logo.
