I have 2 sets of numbers on my cd....

Which one do I use? For instance (not the real one I wouldn't be that stupid to post it here) One just has numbers like 1234-12345-1234. The other has something like five saets of numbers and letters. aba1-abb2-aba6-

I don't recall having to use my cd key when installing the platinum pack. I just started the game and presto I could play. I Want to do things right.

The CD key will most likely have the words CD KEY before it....
And it won't have a bar code next to it..

His question was perfectly alright, he was just wanting to be sure. Besides, that answer was about as useful as sleeves on a lifejacket seriously, because a) there are two codes beside the word cdkey or keycode or the barcode and b) trying one at random is not really answering the question is it.

To answer the question for him, it is the cdkey with all numbers.

maybe one is for a differnt game. did you say you had the platnium pack? well that includes blueshift and op4, and i think one of those uses a differt CD key type then the others. *shrug*

Damn I guess assuming that since this is a HALF-LIFE 2 forum, you'd post about HALF-LIFE 2 and not HL1....

Anyways, I'm pretty sure that if you write in the wrong number it won't allow you to continue. I think thats what they use these cd keys for...but I could be mistaken about this as I was above.

The other is for a different MOD, Blueshift or TFC... can't remember which.

What are you talking about, really? Is steam part of HL2? Yes, so the cdkey is for steam I imagine. If you don't think so then you better get a rally going to take down all these steam threads in this forum.

Maybe I will. No, really, I hate when people post this @ss threads about some stupid question. I mean maybe I should start a thread asking if I download the file to my computer or if I'm suppose to run if after its finished downloading. I mean, I do want to do this right. Its a cd key, not some random info you have to give them, do you really think that its gonna let you continue if you write in some numbers that u can barely read off the corner of your cd case?? Do you need someone from the forum to hold your hand thru every little thing u do or think?? Who cares if you have that video card and it sucks, we dont need to hear you start a new thread saying "Damn my card sucks" and thats it.

Maybe you're forgetting the fact that I didn't ask the question, I was the only one kind enough to answer it for him. If you feel this strongly about it these types of threads, then don't click on it, simple.

He was asking a question relating half-life/steam not a "how can I download a file", do you understand? It's usually a good idea to be smart before you try being a smartass.

Some of that didn't make sense, but I gathered what you're tryin to say.

As long as they are ontopic then what is the problem, geez. Sure there can be one thread on each topic just for you, but unfortunately for yourself this is not the case, maybe you can appeal to a mod to have it your way.

Since it isn't your way then why not just be well mannered (omg scarey huh!?) and tell them this isn't the most appropiate place to be asking this, then direct him to where you think best... instead you try and be sarcastic, unamusing troll.
