at first i must tell you my english is very bad...i've very sorry...
i am very love to play your Half-Life, but i feel that i can't play it with my friend together in the story line is very lamented. i think you know what is my want to say. right. i wish i can fight to these aliens(and bad guys) with my friend and experience the great adventure in it's story stages. i don't think death match mode is the only choose of all FPS game. a truely multiplayer game that must have cooperation mode in story stages, if you worry about it might break it's balance in difficulty level, you can think that how many guns and bullets is a players can share to another one in the game. yes, resource is limited, maybe it is very much for one player but it is not also much enough for 2 players(or more players). if one player die, they maybe can load their save files to play again, so i think that every player can save their files in his/her hard disk in multiplay cooper mode game.
half life2 has few important NPC(Alyx Vance , Barney Calhoun). designer can let another player to control it in the game to help or to cover host player "Gordon Freeman". i think that is a good idea to increase it's gameplay.
i have a question very long time....why after Quake2, almost all Quake-Like FPS games have no multiplay cooperation mode in story stages? i know some friends like to play cooperation mode in story stages. what is the difficult point in this design direction?
