I Have a Problem

When I play HL2 the flashlight barely sheds any light. Also, I am missing a lot of the story within the game because all the video screens in the game with the characters talking don't have any sound and half of the time you can't even see the screen. Can someone please help me out! Thanks in advance.

Get a new graphics card. I had the same problem.

I don't think so. I had exactly your problem, I couldn't hear people on screen or my flashlight barely worked.
If you really want a flashlight (like for Episode One), type this in the console:

r_dynamic 1
r_shadows 1
r_newflashlight 0

But until you get a new graphics card/computer, use the above workaround.

Thank you! Would a Nvidia graphics card work, cause i'm already thinking about buying one.

LOL when I played Episode 1 where it's all dark it took me a freakin' hour to fix that elevator, then there were zombies everywhere so that didn't help.
