...when a newbie joins the a forum just to ask a specific question - so forgive me!

I'd love to be able to change player sounds particulary for use in the synergy mod, where i can have my own sounds applied to the taunt/medic!/coverme buttons. Ideally, I'd like to be able to edit existing sounds within existing characters as that surely would be easier??

incidently, there's a character which came with synergy called dude which i managed to change by replacing his sound directory with my own wavs...trouble is he's been the only one i can find easily...

if anybody here can shed any light, i'd be well chuffed

You should explain what "chuffed" means first...

Go to the Steam/Steamapps/Sourcemods/(Synergy or something like that)/ folder.
Inside should be a folder called "sounds" or something. If you browse in that folder a bit, you should be able to find the sounds you want to change. Just search for replacement sounds, make them the same file format and give them the same name (overwriting the originals).

Maybe you can keep a folder with the original sounds as a backup just in case.

cheers mate, i've already done that - i was also hoping to be able to change the valve characters (kliener, male 1 female 2 etc) sounds for multiplayer, found a directory with all their sounds - changed them like described but when i play the game they're still the same!
