As some of you may know ive just recently bought a copy of hl2 but im finding highway 17 a boring chapter to play compared to ravenhol wher u had loads of zombies jumping out all ythe time well i need hel becuase i dont knw waether or not i should cheat and skip the chapter or carry on nd deal wid my bordom????? PLEASE HELP
 
Carry on with being bored. It all ends soon.

Playing the game for the first time and cheating you will regret. Just like I did.
 
You didn't leave the car behind in HW17, right? (that's what I did when I was a nub :D)
 
Deal with your boredom. I think that Highway 17 was more of an "atmospheric chapter", with alot of exploring and such, while all the real actions left for the next one. If you really are bored, don't worry, because that giant bridge signals the end of the chapter.
 
Get a dictionary

So not only does he leave entire letters out of simple words like "and" he also uses lol alot, please buy this guy a dictionary.
 
if you're finding it boring, and only like a lot of fighting and not bothering with the story, I suggest you play DOOM 3
 
craig, you're a nublet. Highway 17 was the second-best immersive chapter in the whole game. Ditto Vectyr.

well yes but there ent many when there is combines nd the antilops or w/e der called suck der just a waste of ammo and last and finally WHO CARES IF I DONT SPELL FULLY I DONT
 
Because people won't understand what your saying, so how can we possibly help you?

Like I've told you before Craig, surely, when "touch typing" as you so say you can do, when doing that, you can spot the errors and correct them?

If they suck, stop playing. Throw your copy of Half-Life 2 away forever. Burn your hard drive. You're not going to enjoy the rest of it, anyway.

Where are you on Highway 17, anyway? Aren't the gunships trying to kill you yet? :O

You don't really have to shoot anything in HL2, now do you? Wouldn't that classify as everything being waste of ammo in any fps game?

well i am still in school. im no longer a scanner i'm a manhack i found the chapters before highway 17 brilliant its just that there isnt much of a storyline going through highway 17
 
Highway 17 and Sandtraps were a bit boring: drive buggy to village-killcombine-drive buggy to next village-kill combine-drive buggy to next village...you get the point. But it did make me feel weird inside...I was hooked for some reason...and just couldn't stop playing the game.
The music made me feel empty and the opportunity to see what the combine have been doing with earth...and the quietness...freaky and weird.

"Waste of ammo"? You, practically, have infinite ammo in Highway 17 :P
 
oh my, i just had a friend who hates the fps genre but got attracted by hl2, then who got bored during the highway 17 level. im sure he would have continued after the city 17 lvl..

as a side note, i notice alot of ppl go into playing hl2, without playing hl1, (like me), then get bored as they do not fully understand the storyline. thank god, i watched this youtube "intro of hl2 and hl1 thingy before playing hl2 for noobs" or something like that, then played hl2. it seemed alot better and did not spoil the game. i kind of whish valve added something like that.
