Well i hadnt played Warcraft 3 in a long time so i decided to the other day. Me and my Brother use to play all the time TD maps etc. Well we are signing on and getting ready to play. I host a game and realize that a old problem came back. No one can join my game BUT my brother who is next door. I fixed this before by enabling DMZ. Thing is i dont remember what number goes at the end anymore. Well if anyone knows how to fix this id greatly appreciate it because iv been trying to figure it out for the past 2 hours. What i dont get is how something can just stop working out of nowhere like this. Really hate it when shit like this happens.

thx for the help.

ok this is getting weirder and weirder...

Before when it use to work, i would only be able to host games but my brother wont. So i was the one always hosting. Now its the other way around..wth is this Internets BS! :P I feel like someone is ****ing with me.

Do you have a router? Thats why no one could join my games.

Yes i do but thats not the problem. I was able to create before with the same router. Now the only difference is that instead of me being able to create my brother is. Before it was the other way around. We are both connected to the same router etc.

It would be great if we can set it up so we can both create games.

Do you have a firewall? How does your network look like exactly.

The easiest way is using DMZ. BUT I'm pretty sure that you can only have one PC as DMZ at a time. So that wouldn't let both your PCs create games like you want.

You would have to know what ports to open etc.

I know what ports to open thing is i dont know how to open them.

it sounds like your not sure what IP to set your routers DMZ to:
Go to:
Start>Run
Type "CMD"
then when the dos window opens, type "ipconfig"
and set the DMZ of your router to the internal network IP that appears. (Usually something like "192.168.1.100" or "192.168.1.101")

Likely the router you have has a built in firewall. To access the router type the appropiate ip adress into the url field of your browser. The ip adress is usually 192.168.0.1

From there you should get access to a html based interface that should allow you to open ports.

I got one pc to be able to creat by setting the DMZ. But id like to know how to set the ports so i can make it so both PC's can create. I know the ports i need to open i just dont know how.

That works, but putting your computer on the DMZ leaves you vulnerable to everything. If you've gone so far, why not take the extra step and just manually open the one port WarCraft 3 uses?

My memory's a bit hazy on this but I believe the port War3 uses is 6112. Most routers have an Application / Games tab, where you can input your IP, what port you want to open, and whether it's TCP or UDP (or both). Doing it this way will open that specific port and not leave your computer completely vulnerable.

www.portforward.com

I hope this helps. You just need to find out the IP address of YOUR machine and foward the specific ports to that. It's a lot safer than using the DMZ.
What's your b.net name?

It's 6112-6119 on both.
