Installing Addons

How do I install Garry's Mod Addons, and how do I use them once they are installed? I have tried to use SVN to install Wiremod, but the system has 'actively resisted'. Should I just extract the .ZIPs into the addons folder, and the tools will be there?

NO. Never ever ever extract directly into your Garry's Mod folder. Always open the archive to view what is inside. You just want to copy the folder (usually the name of the add-on) with the info.text inside of it and paste it into your addons folder. This way you can be sure you are extracting properly.
