Installing HL2 on mass storage device to play on offline laptop?!?!?!

Quick Question
if i installed the orange box onto an external hardrive with steam etc...
would i be able to play half life on a different computer to the one i installed it on??
im doing this because my laptop doesnt have the internet so i have to install it using my main computer!!

you still have to use steam on your laptop.

You can move your Steam folder around as much as you like (even between computers) and it will run fine, providing Steam can access the internet.

well so long as its all updated, put it in offline mode, them move the whole steam folder over.. it should work.. however key word being "should" I've never tried it.. so i dont know personally.
