Installing HL2 w dial-up internet...?

Hello everybody!

I'm going to get HL2: Game of Year Compilation edition in this week from Walmart. My Q is: I'll be able to install/play it with dial-up connection? Steam can handle it? I heard there is a patch and it's pretty big. Downloading it with d-u it's a pain. Or this "new" version is fully patched?

I don't know how up to date the GOTY edition is, but I'm sure you'll have to download some updates. It will probably take a few hours at least, so just install it before you go to bed and let it update overnight, and it should be done in the morning. :thumbs:

Thanks for the reply. One more Q: I have a 2Ghz P4 with 512 Mb ram and an ATI X1300 pro AGP. This config is good enough for the game? (I hope so...lol)

For single player its adequate, but if you go online in a deathmatch game, everyone will hate you. You will make the game lag. They hate me, I am still on DU. The fewer the players in a game, the better.
