Internal driver error in IDirect3DDevice9::Present()

I get this error, when I open hammer it's fine, but when I open it, it makes this sound like you get 100 errors in a second, if im lucky it will stay open long enough for me to type out the error.

"Internal driver error in IDirect3DDevice9:resent()"

I really need some help!

it kind of sounds like a problem with your DirectX..? try re-installing it.

if that doesn't work, you might have to delete all your Hammer stuff (right click Source SDK in the "play Games" menu, then click "Delete local game content") and download it again.. (make sure you back up any maps)
