Hey guys,
I just got the Orange Box lately and I've been attempting to run Episode One on it. It's like playing the lottery with my system, and it only runs properly once every 20 attempts (no kidding, it's like playing the lottery everytime I see "Loading...")
The precise error is this:
Internal driver error in IDirect3DDevice9:
resent()
It keeps popping up everytime Episode One crashes. Turning off HDR has helped just a tiny bit but now I'm at a part of the game where it refuses to run at all. (It's like, I spend 1 hour troubleshooting every 15 minutes I play.)
Other problems include textures not loading properly, resulting in a pure black room and some other random errors.
Steps taken so far: I've uninstalled my old drivers (ATI Radeon w/ Catalyst Control), updated my drivers, ran DXDiag, run the game in safe mode (which crashes my computer and reboots it :frown and all other recommended actions in Steam's technical help...
