HL2W:What's the first video game you played?
Gabe:My brother and I used to play games on a Burroughs mainframe using punch cards. We didn't have enough money for an interactive account so we had to do everything in batch mode. We'd play this insanely primitive character mode Star Trek game by feeding a deck of punch cards in, racing over to the line printer to see what the computer did next, and then typing in a new punch card on a machine that was about the size of my current office. If you don't know what "batch mode" and "punch cards" are, just imagine two barbaric-looking children in animal skins smacking rocks with sticks.

Come onIt's a great interview, i laughed my ass off. But it's certainly not real!
I'm pretty sure it's real but Feedbag, you should really calm down. You don't call someone an asshole because they think it's fake- if it's real they will eventually figure it out or you could point them in the right direction..... but yeah, crappy interview....
Mr-Fusion said:It's a nice joke guys. I'm sure a few people will believe the sincerity of your posts.
This fictitous Gabe also has no problem being interviewed by a site that openly promotes illegal HL2 material.
I think the joke can end now![]()
Feath said:...is probably the worst interview I've ever seen in my life. You barely acknowledge the existance of Half Life 2 for gods sake.
Feedbag said:i find it a very intimate look at the man behind our favorite game(s).

Great thread
Don't get mad because not everyone took the bait. It was a humorous phony interview. Lets just leave it at that. There's no need to pretend it's real, and then get angry at those who state the obvious.
Good to see you bunch of fine upstanding, young gentlemen partaking in this magnificent community. I look forward to more posts from Feedbag and friends.
Feedbag said:#1- we've never promoted illegal anything.
greycap said:As the author of the software, I just wanted to clarify. The application I created is not illegal, and contains no stolen source code nor utilities. The applicatoin itself can do nothing. When the sdk is released, there will be an application that will allow modders to convert textures into .tga's, however, it is limited in that it can only do one at a time. As it turns out, this utility was among those files stolen from valve.
The application I created is a frontend for converting multiple textures at once, and it was created for the modding community. Currently, there is no sdk, and the app is useless (but apparently its just around the corner). I don't like the inference about the legality of the app, especially when it was posted in a closed thread where I couldn't defend myself.
