Iron Man 3 filming

Thing is, who things the villain roster for IM3 could possibly end up pushing it in the same direction as Spidey 3? So far we have The Mandarin, Eric Savin, who for some reason is Iron Patriot instead of Osborn (In the comics he was Coldblood 7), and the cyborg Firepower.

I do love my Iron Man flicks, but I'm beginning to worry they are over stretching themselves here. They could screw this up completely, which is a shame after the high of The Avengers.

Osborn character rights were sold off with Spidey, he can't be Iron Patriot.

Shane Black is a competent writer, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Yeah kinda figured they couldn't use Osborn as Sony still have the rights for those characters, but why bother with Iron Patriot if you can't have Osborn? That storyline is a pretty major one, couldn't they come up with another character? Or just not use him? They already have Mandarin (whom, IMO, should be the only villain in this one) and Firestorm. To me it looks like its gonna be another dose of armour v armour, with Mandarin being secondary.

I do like Shane Black though, so here's hoping he does pull it off.

I hope they hold off on Fing Fang Foom for the moment. Enough aliens currently in the Avengers series. No need to add more for now.

I'm with you on that one, there's really no need for him to be there any time soon.

There was a brief 'cameo' of him in IM2 (his picture on a billboard).

Perhaps Iron Patriot isn't going to be a straightforward antagonist in this film, but set up for a later sequel?
