Err...spoiler warnings, obviously. Also, this may have been posted earlier, but I don't know, considering my newbie status.

Anyways...
Does anyone find it ironic that people refer to Gordan Freeman as "The One Free Man, The Opener of the Way", while at the end g-man tells you otherwise.

"I wont give you the illusion of choice. I will tell you if, and when, your time shall come again."

VALVe most likely emphasized Gordan's name "Freeman" throughout the story, just so that line was as Ironic as possible. Also, the idea that youre not free is throughout the game. I liked the game, but one complaint is that the game is very linear. If you do not have to go somewhere, you can't. There is really only one way to get from 1 place to another. And there is only one ending. So even without that line the Irony is FLAGRANT

the one free man.. the one who is free to kill anything that moves in ridiculous quantity, and there is no such thing as "impassable" "unkillable""invincible" in his way.

the one man, to RULE (kill) THEM ALL...

Exactly. The "One Free Man" is ironically the one with the least choice. His current assignment just happens to be beneficial to Humanity - they misinterpret it as Free-Will, of one Citizen breaking away and defeating the Combine. It is currently speculated that Gordon could end up on any side - it'd be interesting to see what humanity would think of the Free Man when he was the enemy...
