What's this all about?

We all know Ironman's Super Offroad don't we?
A brilliant game made in 1992 by Ivan Stewart.
Upgrade your tires, top speed, shocks or acceleration, buy some nitro blasts and go, go, go!

Now imagine this multiplayer.. In Ironman Offroad Championships it's not ALL about upgrading and racing, if you fail to qualify for the next race you join the spectators.. as a spectator the fun starts: you can assist your fellow teammates by throwing stuff on the track to obstruct the other team.

You can even place mines, and thus destroy the other cars, on the other hand, you can help your teammates by putting flags on mines you've discoverd, maybe drop some nitro's for him to use or helping the poor fella back on 4 wheels! (these are just examples)

A MOD for HL2, called Ironman Offroad: Champoinships, is now in development in Holland.

Its different, but to be blunt:
It sounds rather booring... Maybe that's just me, but if I got such a game I would just like to go out and race, not worry about upgrades or people other than the drivers messing the road.
Well, its my opinion at least.

We will add different modes:

the Drive mode:
Just for rallying with upgrades turned OFF, just cars, no specs
the Championship mode.
The full MOD

You enter the game in the lobby of your team,
here, you sign in to be a driver, walk up to the stadion and get in your car.
Here a GUI will give you the chance to upgrade with the money you have. Then it's time to race. the upgrades makes the next round more interesting, you keep going on. I think it's addictive

hmm seems good except the spectator bit u should make it more action based i mean who wants to race online? id like something like twisted metal or interstate for a hl2 mod.

I played the orginal game alot back then and i hope this mod be as good as the real game

read about it...I like the idea...but i think it's going to be a pain to execute the spec part, but could def. be done
gl and hf, but a think..you should try and wait for hL2 with mapping...it does look good, to the HL standard, but it could be so much cooler with HL2... if all the ramps wera a natural part of the env and such..and making the track more pumpy and like that

negative people, have you played the original game? that's why this mod looks like this!

haha,(if I read teh description right) everyone running setting mines over the place and trying to find enemy ones while dodging monster trucks going over 150 mph with nitrous sounds like some crazy fun!!!
