is Half Life: Source worth buying?

Having played Half Life 1 multiple times, is there any good reason why I should pay $10 for Half Life: Source?

The physics engine might be a good reason to play HL: Source, but is that even included in the game?

Except good. It's not as fast-paced as CS, since matches tend to last quite a while, compared to CS's 5 minute time limit. It's like a slower, more tactical version of TFC if anything.

Is it only $10? About, Ooooh, £6. Do you need to own the original Half-Life (which I do, but never completed). Do the old weapons exist, but with better graphics or are there only the HL2 ones?

Yes, Day of Defeat. A realistic (relatively) WW2 based shooter.

Edit: You don't need the original, and there are no new weapons or art for that matter (I think there may be a few retouched textures). It doesn't use the Hi-Def pack either.

you need to educate yourself on these mods, especially DOD which is probably the 2nd/3rd most popular HL1 mod. Its a WW2 mod, which is superb. HL : source is very good, but you can only get it by upgrading to silver, which means you get DOD: S when it comes out as well. Which is why the other dude asked you that. Search tbh

MP only. No bots.

Multiplayer only. Although CS:CZ comes with some sort of SP component ("deleted scenes" and bots).

And in answer to your question, no, i haven't played it but in my opinion it's not worth buying it as it doesn't actually add that much to the game.

I don't really post that many threads. What happens is that my threads are usually so good that they end up on top for days, giving the impression that I am spamming the forum with them, when in fact they have all been posted days apart.

Haha... yeah right. So far I have seen like 2threads/day.
To the topic: if you are choosing from Steam bronze or silver, you should go with silver. If you are buying retail, then the Collectors Edition just for HL: Source isnt worth it.
