Is it possible to delete one's Steam Account?

I'm going to sell my version of HL2, and I want my Steam Account deleted, so the future buyer won't get his hands on any nasty little details and/or secrets etc etc... you get the drill.
Well, is it possible to delete my Steam Account?

The only thing you can do is get VALVe to reset the cdkey from your account.

If you're going to sell HL2, you have to give the person your login details. The cd-key is tied to your account.

Or I think you can get the cd-key removed from your account, but I remember reading somewhere that they charge you for that.

i think you have to pay valve $10 dollars to remove the cd key from the account look in the support page on steampowered i know its somewhere in there

It appears that once a CD-Key is binded to an account, it cannot be moved from that account (see the last sentence).

If you bought it at a store, you can take a photo of the case/cd-key and tell them which Steam username you want the cd key switched to.
