is it possible to pass Highway 17/Sandtraps on foot?

The only real obstacle I can think of are the parts where you have to use the sand buggie to jump over a fallen bridge....Apart from that, I don't mind crossing those levels on foot. No wonder it's going to take forever, but who cares?

the person who did it in 2 hours went on foot, its actually faster scince you dont have to do so many puzzles to unblock the barracades

its funny when that girl keeps shouting at him "I said get back on the pier the car is ready for you!"

I was using the Strider Mod. Couldnt kill her though, got annoying after awhile.

Ok I just finished those two levels on foot. I had to noclip once though...

Remember that bridge you drive under and later have to jump over after using the crane? Well it is impossible to climb that mountain, to swim on the water without getting killed by the leeches, or to make that jump without the buggie.

That's the only part where I had to cheat. The rest is completely doable. The fun part is that when I got to the Lighthouse I wasn't asked to put the sand buggie in the garage

well if the guy who did it without taking any damage throughout the whole game is telling the truth, you can do it all without cheating- he couldn't use the car cos you take damage when the magnet fails on the crane lowering you down.

You are allowed to take damage in speedruns.

Man, the lady in the crane gets really upset when you dont use the buggy And to answer the Question, yes, Highway 17 and Sandtraps can be done without the buggy and without noclip The big jump over the broken bridge pasrt the crane, you simply walk underneath the bridge going towards the sea and on your left is a rockface that you can simply zigzag up to the road

You are allowed to take damage in speedruns.

I know, man. I meant when the guy who couldn't take damage, UNLIKE in a speedrun, i was asking how he did it, cos grav jump seemed like the only way to do it. As it turns out, not so.

Well, you cant grav gun the buggy down as it seems fixed to the pier So down the ladder you go..just wish the shotty had another 30 rounds Ant Lions suxzor .

Use the gravity gun, you can get far by just knocking them over and legging it.

The guy who claimed to have beat the game with 0 damage said he swam the entire way along Route 17 and Sandtraps.

Doesn't seem like much fun if you ask me.

How can you swim the entire way, you cant get map changes as the trigger points for the next Load are not in the ocean

If you had tried to go into the water, and had you gone too deep, you would have been pwned by leeches. It's just their way of blocking off that end of the level (so that random Half-Life 2 fanatics don't embark on sea voyages looking for hidden islands of Valve or anything )
