Is the game really only 3 or 4 hours long and $8?

Apparently this is what some magazine (Game Informer I think?) has been saying about Aftermath. That sounds...disappointing. If it's even true.

It is free, if you steal $35 from your mom's wallet.

Valve have said that it is about one third of the length of HL2. So Depending on your playstyle I expect that should be between 4 and 6 hours.

Either way, that's hella cheap considering HL2, at three times longer, costs well over seven times that price.

Dude, it's an Expansion Pack. It's what SHOULD of happened in HL2 but they never got around to adding it to the game, so they did it in an EP.

It's to "prepare for HL3". (I'm guessing on all of this)

I'm inclined to think certain aspects we didn't get to see in the original due to the leaking of the beta are going to return. I'm hoping that more will be revealed about the story and about earth.

Fully agreed.

They're going to add elements in the game which they could have added in Half-Life 2 itself, but due to the lack of time missed them. I.e. Aftermath will be better than Half-Life 2 in its gameplay, and Lost Coast will be just a show-off EP...

It really depends on how much skills and experience you have from the previous game, this time I think I want to complete the game in 3 days, because everything that you'll experience for the first time, will never give you that same feeling when you play it for the second time, or third

After completed it in 3 days, then I will clear the game out in 30 mins, or maybe 40.

And Aftermath will be a 1/3 of HL2, so I think valve should get the change to fix better physics that will happend in the game.

Well HL2 can be done in roughly 2 hours, so 3 or 4 hours for aftermath doesn't seem to bad really
