I just got my new comp and I am updating Half Life 2 on my Steam account and all that. Well, it says 367 mins to update...I am on cable but thats just not right! Whats goin on!? ;(

That is... rather long. Though Steam, which has worked perfectly for me since I downloaded it, seems to have hit it's first hurdle, as it doesn't seem to be even downloading the latest Steam update at all, so you're not alone.

->Right-Click Steam Tray Icon
->Settings
->Internet
->Set it to your specified connection

Although i'm not on cable (i've got a 28.8k running at 14.4k...), i had kinda the same problem. it said it had 350-something minutes to go, so i just left it, and came back half an hour later and it was finished... maybe just leave it for a while
