Islanders battle to save beached whales, dolphins

I think they are just trying to evolve into land animals. Damn you god!

..when I saw this on the index, I thought it was going to say "Islanders battle to save Earth"

I was disappointed. :(

I hope those islanders suceed...100 of them died...only 50 left. Truly sad. ;(

What could drive these creatures to all attempt landfall at the same time? I think perhaps we are getting the wrong end of the stick. Think about it: this was an attempted whale invasion. We are damn lucky this one failed. Today Tasmania - tomorrow the world? Prepare yourselves.

For a while there was some naval 'thing' that drove whales nuts and caused them to beach themselves and lose their tracks. If you screw up their 'frequencies', then they can do some pretty weird things.

That's what i always thought.

Or there could be some fundamentalist whale leader that makes false claims that if they beach themselves they'll receive 72 virgin porpoises?

LOL :) :)

it's a known fact that american submarine's communication-methods have had this effect on whales...

because they communicate with subsonic frequensies, it interferes with the whale's internal compass, and since whales communcate with those frequencies, they could easily misunderstand it as ''hey d00ds, this way to the grub!'' and go in the directions the submarine ''tells'' them to...

so yeah...

Damn emo whales.
Always seeking attention.
