Since my days as staff on modDB.com and the articles and interviews I have created www.GURadio.com and what a better way to get your mod out to the world with the invention of radio. That's right I have created my own on line radio station. For the majority of the time it will just play various music. Time to time you will see DJ's on the stream. Raton from modDB.com is a DJ and we are looking for a couple more.

The main reason for this post was to allow you the project leads or if you can show the leaders of projects this post I would be in your debt. We do our shows on Wednesdays 10pm EST and they last 2 hours or more. We cover the previous weeks in news of mods and PC Gaming and some tech news. What we are offering is a chance for you to be on our shows. What we ask for is very simple.

1. Have a site up
2. Have a in game movie or a alpha (Be ready to give us some hot exclusive items from the project so we can promote for the show)
3. 2 staff members need to be ready to show up and join us on vent
4. show is on Wednesday 10pm est (no changing or moving days)
5. visit http://www.guradio.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=38 and tell us about your project

Thanks to sites like HalfLife2.net mods can shine I hope I can help on the way!

Hey Blue do you need any staff for the station? I'd be interested in helping!

when the site is up ill need news posters forum help and DJ's. DJ's need to understand how to stream shoutcast via winamp or sam2 or 3 already.

How is Brawl coming Blue?

We lost our coder so im stressed. all models and player models and weapons are done and we have two nice maps so we have so much done and hardly a good code base and no one wants to code for brawl :( Im still looking but I am putting effort into my above project.

Never thought of picking up a code book yourself? That's why 90% of mods die - the lead isn't prepared to code himself.

Ya i coded before it just not my thing. I wish I could do it I hate asking for help on the biggest aspect of the project.

If you're not prepared to do something nobody else wants to do to keep your mod afloat because it's "not your thing", then your mod *will* collapse.

-Angry Lawyer

I respect ya Angry but not everything falls in place and I get what your saying but because I dont code means my mod is on hold and me ending the project causes it to collapse. If you were not on a project already I would hire you but your busy. Thus, I'll ask for help and someone who likes my idea of a mod for HL2 will want to join and be our lead coder. I have to think positive or my life would collapse not just my project.

But the point of this thread was to get you mod leaders and lead coders to join our radio shows and promote what you do on your projects and all you need is a MIC and ventrilo. Join www.guradio.com and our forums and you will find out our vent info and how to join and if you want to join one of the shows we do to promote your project get in touch with me

Non-flexible interviews at 2AM GMT (=3AM for most of Europe) tells me you've heavily geared your mod coverage to US mod teams, which is a shame because there's a lot of good stuff that gets produced by the UK and Europe that isn't given enough opportunity to get recognition for what they do.

The US already dominates the PC gaming industry. I can't help but feel that if Europe (especially its key players: France and Britain) were given more opportunities at the grass roots level of game development we'd have a less stagnated games industry in general. It's no dead cert, but I'd personally like to see at least the UK games industry grow to something bigger than it is.

Anyway, gripes aside, is there absolutely no leeway on the 10pm interview time, because I can see it putting a lot of mod teams off (who can expect to put together a coherent sentence at that time in the morning?). Maybe you could add a Euro and an Aussie slot for worldwide coverage once the site takes off?

There is such thing as a recorded show.

Yes once the site is up and I have a Euro staff I will allow diff time zone shows. I am in texas and Wednesdays 9pm to 1230pm is best for me. I have had other Euro teams show up for the late night show and yes they were sleepy
