Anyone who complains about the story doesn't know what halflife is all about. You are the story. They are not gonna spoon feed it to you. You are gordon freeman your suppose to find the story on your own. It's puts u directly in Gordons shoes your as lost as him and the point is that if u pay attention in the game and take it slow u will see all the hints and clues that valve drops everywhere as to what happned. It angers me that everyone expects this game to be like every other game the slowly feeds you the story. Most people who complain are those who never played HL1 when it first came out. Because HL2 is exactly the same way. Pay attention to detail and you will be able to peice the clues together... There will be no concrete version it depends on how every person interperts and or accepts it.

Yea I just beat it a few mins ago too. (Spoiler...kinda if you havent beat it. Do not read past this unless you want to know about a little cute cutscene that happens after the credits.) I liked the part after the credits where Lamarr hops down from the top of the screen and Dr. Kliner is saying "Lamarr? Larmarr? Oh, where did she get to?" Then Lamarr just jumps at the screen.

Wrong. Valve wanted us to feel the same as the chracters we portray in the game and they have totally succeeded. You think Gordon Freeman knows what going on no... In fact they a created the best experience ever by making us as confused as gordon must be right now... It's been stated before that Marc Laidlaw comprised a more the 1000 page script of the Half life universe... i'm sure that what they did with the story they did on purpose.
