Awww, who's a cute little noobie woobie woobie woob???

Just kidding.

When you install HL2 you have to install this thing called Steam. You can get to Hammer (the HL2 editors name) from the menus in Steam. Just click on Source SDK and it'll load the menu with all the stuff like Hammer, Model Viewer, Face Poser etc.

Here's some places with tutorials

hey thnx ! That sh'll be a nice start huh :p i allready have Steam, but not the real game (yet) just a demo :( :p so i can already start making maps :p 2 cool ! :D

uuuuuuuhm okay ... i'm home, back from France, now i'm in Belgium ..... i've opened my Steam menu .... i get this :

[ Play Games] Choose a game and start playing !
[Browse Games] Find new games to play
[F r i e n d s ] Find Friends, chat, play together
[S e r v e r s ] Brows multi-player games-in-progress
[ s e t t i n g s ] Change Steam Options
[ n e w s ] Keep up with latest Steam news

-------------------------------------------------------------
i don't see Hammer anywhere :(

look, i have just downloaded Steam, and i got the demo of HL², can't i make maps, cause 'Source SDK' isn't there !

I'll tell you now, Unreal Tournament mapping is vastly different than Source editing. UT works around carving out a map and adding in details. Source mapping is more about lego building inside an empty space. IMO UT mapping is far more effecient, but much harder to do. Either way, a good mapper with either editor can make the same end result. And no, you can't make maps with the demo. That' why it's called a demo.

Yeah, who would have thought you would have had to actually own the game to create maps?

Welcome to the forums :):D:E  :upstare: :upstare:

you antchly have to download the whoal game you insall most of the files ans steam than when you click on a game to play it updates (wich can take hours) and eatch game mustbe updated before you can play them.

Yeah, it's strange why it have to update every game, it should be much better if it would do that while installing the game :S :p

By the way, it'v been a long while i've been here, how r u doin' m8s ?
