Because it makes it look like there's a malfunction or something. In the bazooka drawing, he actually shows the projectile flying through the air. Why not in this one?

When weapons fire randomly while floating in the air, it doesn't take much more suspension of disbelief. Besides, an RPG looks far more threatening with a rocket in the tube AND backblast. In short, that's the best-looking moment for me.
