Does anyone know if KOTOR 3 is going to come out? The second and first were great and the end of the 2nd game left it open for a sequal if you talked to Kreia.

The first game was brilliant because LucasArts knew better than to dick around with Bioware. The second one could have been even better, but LucasArts decided to tighten the screws on Obsidian, a developer less established.

Bioware's off doing their own thing now, and I'm not sure if anybody else would want to go through the ass-****ing that LucasArts is known for. I'm sure KOTOR 3 will come at some point, but not soon.

It's a damned shame that one of the most interesting sci-fi IPs is owned by a bunch of shits.

KOTOR 2 was a far better game than the first ever was.

And yeah, I've been dicked off at LucasArts all these years - where the **** is the sequel to Yoda Stories? Hmm?

As far as I'm concerned, LucasArts died in the 80's or when they changed their name from LucasFilm - whichever came first.

When I see the LucasArts label, I automatically know that I will not like the game. Saves me time and money when browsing.

As always, your opinion may vary.

I couldn't agree more. It would be great if they could turn things around, and make a great lightsaber game on the Wii, but it just won't ****ing happen unfortunately.

Yoda Stories! Yoda Stories!

I need to know how to get it working on XP. :p

Have you played Full Throttle? That adventure game is ****ing classic and genius, and it was done by LucasArts in the mid '90s.
Not to forget Sam & Max Hit the Road, '93, also LucasArts.:)

Just checking.:)

I sure haven't.

My opinion is based on most all of the LucasArts console games. I heard the Star Wars launch-title on the Gamecube was pretty decent though.

You really should check out Full Throttle and Sam & Max if you like point'n'click adventure games, they're both really awsome games..
Dunno where you can find'em though, they're not abandonware because LucasArts are jerks..:p

WHAT?! :|

Please, tell me you're joking.

KOTOR2 was a rushed sequel, developed by dumbasses.
All it had going for it was a bigger party, more powers, and new locales.

KOTOR was a ****ing masterpiece... brilliant story, plenty of force powers, plenty of items, etc.

KOTOR2 could have been so much better, IF Bioware was at its helm.

KOTOR 2 had a better story. It was more interesting. It had better locations. It had better team members. You didn't get bored.

BioWare wrote the basic, fanfare "zomg its up to me" plotline that's been in...just about every Star Wars movie. And please, the "plotwist" could be seen a mile away.

Obsidian made a game with a plot that was much different than what was seen in usual Star Wars stuff. The main character isn't the most powerful Jedi, matter of fact, he/she is a very danger to the Force itself. The Force is a bitch and makes other people its bitch and some people (Kreia) don't like that. KOTOR 2 showed that the star wars universe isn't black and white filled with only good guys and bad guys or good guys who turn bad vice versa. BioWare touched on this with Jolee, but Obsidian went balls out with the concept which resulted in a far more original masterpiece than KOTOR 1.

The only problem was the unsatisfying ending. Goddamn LucasArts made them release it before they were done with it.

Even in its flawed state, I still consider it leaps beyond KOTOR 1.

I agree completely. I was always questioning my own crew as to their goals.

Meh, I didn't like it at all.
Maybe I should replay it... I kinda've stopped about half-way through the game due to the computer crashing... and I hadn't saved so, yeah.

In terms of the actual product delivered, I would say the first game was better. The second had far more potential, no doubt. Which is why I'm even more pissed at LucasArts for screwing over Obsidian.

Oh...well...get on that >_>.

I will admit BioWare did a better job with NPCs. They were more fleshed out. The stuff I've seen that Obsidian had to cut out of the final game would've definitely made everything clearer, but...goddamn LucasArts...DAMN YOU.

JESUS CHRIST, PEOPLE. IT'S NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE DEVELOPERS. IT'S A PROBLEM WITH LUCASARTS.

Both were great games, but one had the benefit of building on the other. And, unfortunately, one got screwed over in the process.

....That's why I clearly said LucasArts. Obsidian couldn't include the extra details because of LucasArts intent to make money.

Okay... sorry. Intoxication.

Was just reading a lot of posts that were seemingly crapping all over the original KOTOR. I, for one, did not see the major plot twist coming. Obsidian definitely had a more engrossing and interesting plot, but they had the benefit of expanding upon an existing game.

...

I want KOTOR 3. :(

I want Monkey Island 5

Can't wait for Sam and Max 2

Wish Full Throttle hadn't been canceled but there was talk it might have been a very poor sequal

And on the topic of KOTOR, I played the first one and love it,from what I see here methinks I'd best go out and find me a cheap copy. Anyone know if it went budget?

i'm with you here.. if they asked me to murder several children to have it released, i would do it. /darty eyes

Thanks, just started playing KOTOR, now I'll be expecting a twist every step of the way :(

I liked the characters and locations in the first one more but if I play one its the second one, it just has more options. If there is a sequel I would like to see the d&d system ditched for ranged combat, it just doesn't work well. I'm not sure how you could fit a cover system into an turn based rpg but watching people dancing while they shoot at each other looks a little strange.

I loved KOTOR. I played a bit of KOTOR II and liked what I saw, but I didn't actually get it. Jedi Outcast was fun, Jedi Academy less so. Lucasarts adventure games have dissappeared into the horizon, but I'd love to find one.

Bottom line, Lucasarts should shape up. And maybe stop relying on Star Wars so heavily - you're already multi-million dollar, you know...

The Rogue Squadron series is made of win. I have the whole "trilogy" :)

Be on the lookout for BioWare's next RPG, Mass Effect. Has ranged combat without the d&d aspect.

Oh and that's if you have a Xbox 360 ;)

KOTOR 2 was good but a dissapointment compared to the original.
lamest ending ever!
