Lighthouse vs. Gunship

ok what is the strategy (of any) to killing the gunship that you shoot at from the lighthouse. i've hit it once or twice but i noticed even fighting the gunship on the bridge that i didnt have much of a strategy besides for shooting the rocket at the chopper and then hoping it would hit it, which didnt happen very often.

As the guy who gave the rocket mentioned the laser guides the rocket. If you shoot directly for the gunship it will tend to shoot it down. Best bet is to shhot to the side and move the laser guidance side to side making the rocket move unpredictably. As it gets close to the gunship make that your target again and BLAM!!!

yeah i figured he said something important but i was playing with the gravity gun
