It may be only me, but my weapon sounds are low volume compared to the other sounds. I really want the weapon fire to be booming - as it is in real life.

Is there a mod for this, a file I can edit or maybe a fix for my sound card?

I appreciate the help. I am sorry if there is a topic on this already, though I did not see one.

Thanks again.

go into options and turn up....the.....sound.....meter....."Oh" he says.

What sort of speaker setup do you have Indy?

And what have you set it in the sound options?

I have Altec 5.1 and have fiddled with the speaker settings in the options menu. I really want the gunfire to be blaring compared to the other sounds - as it should be. Isn't there a file that has the default volume settings for individual sounds or something that I can alter ?

Thanks again for the help.

So you've tried different speaker configs?

The only way I can think of you altering the volume of the weapons themselves is by finding where they are in the GCFs, and if they're a standard format, raising them that way.

Though in reality, you should be hearing them at normal volume.

Also, have you checked your winXP volume control panel to make sure that all the channels are equal?

You should try recallibrating your speakers, I uses Creative Inspire 5.1 and I experienced some volume problems because I miscallibrate the speakers :P

Check your EQ and effects. Make sure your not running the game under a setting like "Disco". Experiment around. Use your sound cards control panel.
