Map in EP1 is based/made of HL2 map

Hello there! One map in EP1, or a part of it is based on an other map in HL2. I have screenshots to prove, but I don't know how/where to upload them. The two maps are in Follow Freeman, when you first meet the hopper mines, and the other one is in Urban Flight, after you defeat the Antlion Guard, and go through the puzzle sequence (room with explosives, elevator which falls down, barnacles on the ceiling) I wonder has anyone notice this?
 
There was a thread about this, and it isn't based off it.
 
It's intentional I think, to show how you actions effect the environment or something like that (Valve did this in Half Life 1 as well with 'Unforseen Consoquences' where you have to backtrack through the wrecked labs).
 
Yep, its just to show how much the city has decayed during the battle...
 
Umm... by this thread I meant, that these two maps are not the same (I mean not the same place in C17) just that Valve was kinda lazy here :)
You really think it's the same place?
 
It's not the same place. Valve was most certainly not lazy, if you check... well, every single part of the levels.
 
I don't think it's the same area, but it's similar enough to give a sense of deja vu, which is fun in games.
 
The design aren't even similar, methinks. :|
