Mapping?

Hi, i have been mapping for a while now in valve hammer editor, and i was wondering if its possible to make maps for half life?
i heard rumors that theres a program like valve hammer on the half life cd, but can anyone help me mapping half life 2 maps?

where can i download the necessary files?

its built into steam, on the tools side of the tab on the main menu. just double click and download... and depending on what games you have, it will allow you to make maps for them.

hmm okay thanks...!
but one more question, aren't i going to download other files than the program?
i mean in valve hammer editor i was also going to download ZHLT and a fgd file?

ZHLT is for Goldsource, not for Source (HL2).
You can get CST (use this link to help get you started with that: http://www.gamedesign.net/node/897)

There are other various tools you can get to assist you in making maps but nothing else is essential.
