lol Die Hard 3

I'm afraid that my oh so beefy computer wont be able to run it when it comes out

Was thinking that

Cover system? This game is ****ed
^This

Max Payne doesn't f**king take cover for cryin out loud! He dances out of trouble in f**king bullet time! Geeze, why does every developer have to jump on the "cover" bandwagon these days? It doesn't work for all action/adventure games and that's a fact.

What's next? Is Samus Aran gonna have a stupid cover system in the next Metroid? /facepalm

I was going to post in this thread with genuine excitement, but the things you say are far, far more impressive than any game release this year, or ever.

If you've ever played Gears of War you'd know what it is. It worked for that game and many people liked it, so now every other dev out there has been tacking it on every other game too.

- takes place in Brazil
- gruff unshaven old man max
- cover system

If they also include a Gears of War style over the shoulder camera angle, I WILL NOT PLAY THIS, PERIOD.

They are ok , but not in max payne ! He's no pussy ! He goes bullet time and shoots the crap out of everyone !
My thoughts exactly. I don't dislike cover systems, but it's completely out of place in Max Payne tbh.

It's going to be isometric. One of my friends works for UPS, and he delivers packages to a friend of one of the programmers.

OMG a cover system **** THIS SHIT

(seriously, Max Payne has turned into John McClane. That's awesome)

Give him some slack, he's a middle-aged fat bloke now. Can't wait to see him diving around the air in slow-motion with that wonderful figure though.

Surely Remedy is not developing the game? Whos developing the game? Sounds pretty awful.

Bald Payne 3

I like it.

Cover system? :|

And let me guess - regenerating health (please, no)?

Regenerating health, cover system, unlimited ammo and BEARDS GALORE. (Rated T for teen)

Must buy, GOTY 2009

So I guess Max joins up again with the DEA and hunts the drug cartels in South America?

This isn't Max Payne. Where is the noir? Where is the feeling and mood?

Cover sounds right. It's a natural evolution of gameplay

Instead of standing behind a wall looking stupid when avoiding gunfire, now you stand behind a wall looking like you are actually avoiding (covering from) gunfire.

Personally, I think it could make it more fun, so long as the controls are done right.

You're all ******s.

/installs Max Payne 2

Let's all judge the game based on the concept art on an unreleased issue of Game Informer

I don't think Sam Fisher Syndrome is something to be applauded. "How to make a generic character, more generic!" Well, Max wasn't wholly generic - certainly he is not cut from the same cloth as Fisher, but y'know, it's a fairly distasteful development.

Max Payne was never "tasteful" it was always just as much satire as it was faux-noir

It's impossible to make it into a trilogy in a "tasteful" way.

Why do you badmouth John McClane

It's not like anyone actually knows what they're talking about, we've only just got our hands on the preview. This E3 has been almost entirely comprised of flounces from hormonal 'fans'. 'WELL IF IT HAS THIS/LOOKS LIKE THIS/COSTS THIS MUCH I'M NEVER PLAYING IT EVER'

Shame the game isn't in Remedy's hands, though.

Rockstar Vancouver is a more than capable developer, it's not the goddamn end of the world. Those ****ers made Bully, they're goddamn brilliant. Remedy wouldn't hand it over to some group of sods, the game could very well turn out to be a good bit of fun, if not a bit of a departure from the typical Payne formula (which isn't necessarily a damned bad thing).

Give 'em time.

as Barking Dog Studios

* Homeworld: Cataclysm (1998) (PC)
* Counter-Strike (2000) (PC) (Various Maps) (with Valve Software)
* Global Operations (2002) (PC)
* Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon (2002) (PC)

as Rockstar Vancouver

* Bully (video game) (2006) (PlayStation 2)
* Bully: Scholarship Edition (2008) (Xbox 360, PC, Wii) (with Rockstar New England and Rockstar Toronto)
* Max Payne 3 (2009) (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC)

Shitty track record, amirite? OH WAIT--they're ****ing awesome. Global Operations was a fun as hell and underrated budget MP shooter, I enjoyed the piss out of it. They also helped with a lot of the popular maps that are still in regular rotation in CS 1.6 today. Rockstar gave them a shit load of money and they've hired in some of the best talent around. Bully was goddamn brilliant. Not to mention Rockstar has industry leading QA.

Holy shit! I didn't know they were so awesome, that's really cool.

4 sucked. You can't make a Die Hard film without him saying "yippie-kayey mother****er".

What the **** is going on with the game industry !? Shitty prequels and ruined sequels.
