just curious. im editing a model that was made by someone else. after i was done doing everything in 3ds i only ended up replacing one of the smds....but there are 2 others which are called phymodel.smd and rogdoll.smd. do i have to do anything to the phymodel/ragdoll smds also or should i just leave them? what are their functions anyways? i ask this cause when i insert the model in garrys mod it looks all messed up and i wonder if that has anything to do with it. this is a character model btw that replaces alyx.

the phys models contains the collision mesh used by source to calculate colisions . the ragdoll model is the model that u see as a ragdoll u will ahve to make new versions of both.

the phys model just needs to be the basic shape made out of blocks. i think u need a different smoothing group for each block or you might get an error when compiling.
